Is a multi genre Singer/Songwriter/Lyricisr/Composerfocusing mostly on Soft Rock, Pop, Latin Jazz, Smooth Jazz and Christian Rock, Sometimes with a bit of a latin flair. He writes songs with a rich harmonic foundation supporting well constructed melodic lines and counterpoints. Lyrics depend on the concept of the album or the song, and his catalog also contains a vast anount of instrumentals and soundscapes ranging in styles.
In addition to the large original repertoire Eddie Garrido is also a cover artist, performing well written music, highly melodic and rich in harmony shall we say "Vintage Music." There was a time when having an original harmonic construction and beautiful melodies mattered, whether it be happy, sad or even angry, melodies paired with great arrangements evoked an emotion, something that todays pop music lacks. Eddie Garrido covers songs that evoke emotions and are well written, he makes them his own as he shares new arrangements of them. Creative Loafin Magazine wrote:
"Eddie-G does covers with great skill."
"Worderful music that only gains in stature if you take the time to really listen."
Eddie-G Interprets and loves to perform songs by the artists that have influenced and that he admires the most. To name a few
The works of:
Burt Bacharach, Sting, Gino Vannelli, Daryl Hall, Antonio Carlos Jobim, David Foster, Jeff Lorber, Pat Metheny, Michael Franks, Michael Bubble, Tony Bennet, Frank Sinatra, Sergio Mendez, Elton John, Billy Joel, George Benson, Ivan Linz, Armando Manzanero and his father Vicente Garrido.
"Let's Pretend" Is the fifth release by Eddie Garrido. A collection of mid tempo songs and ballads ranging in styles, the concept was to make it sound reminicent of the 80s in some songs., and most the lyrical theme is about what happens in relationships, boy meets girl boy looses girl sorta thing.
"I Walk With You" Is the fourth album by Eddie Garrido. This is a Christian Rock Album, one could say that it is his testimony. the lyrical theme here is one rich in scripture sharing some thoughts on the current state of the churches and faith in general. The musical style is Soft Rock, Hard Rock and Pop Rock. The songs "Your love has showed me" reached #1 in the UK on N1M and "Point The Way" reached #2. Praise music? Maybe, it probably raises more questions then answers though the scripture is heavy on some of the lyrics.
